The AmpR Small platform on Renault 5 offers a very low centre of gravity, weight savings, and improved weight distribution. The 150 hp electric motor (110 kW) and precision steering enhance the dynamic performance. Renault 5 is also available with 110 hp or 120 hp motors (80 kW or 90 kW motors).

Wheels pushed back to the four corners of the body deliver new levels of performance and driving pleasure. The optimised front axle and reduced turning circle ensure maximum agility. The multi-link rear axle, borrowed from high-end segments, provides roadholding and performance unprecedented in this class.

The energy recovery system allows the battery to charge during deceleration or when you press the brake pedal. Mode B, which enhances regenerative braking, adapts to your driving style and increases the range of Renault 5. The one-pedal function complements the first three regenerative braking modes and is activated using the steering wheel paddles*.

flexible charging
AC (Alternating Current) charging
With its 7 kW and 11 kW AC chargers, which are compatible with public charging stations, Renault 5 can be easily charged anywhere. You can charge enough to travel about 75 km in 1 hour* at a standard public charging station. Getting around is always easy.

DC (Direct Current) charging
The fast DC charging system, compatible with all European networks, allows you to gain up to 175 km of WLTP range in just 15 minutes*. With fast charging, it takes only 30 minutes to go from 15 to 80% driving range. Renault 5 is perfectly suited for all your journeys.

Depending on the version and equipment, Renault 5 offers battery temperature preconditioning to help you charge more quickly. When a route is programmed on Google Maps, the vehicle automatically adapts the battery temperature to maximise charging power and advises you on the ideal percentage to recover. Perfect for optimising your journeys.
custom battery options
The 52 kWh comfort battery offers a WLTP² range of up to 430 km making it ideal for all types of trips. The 40 kWh batteries, with a WLTP range of up to 315 km³ and the 37 kWh¹ batteries, with a WLTP range of up to 305 km⁴ are perfectly suited for everyday use.
Specially adapted for the AmpR Small platform, the batteries are designed to be repairable and easy to recycle. Backed by Renault’s electrical expertise, they come with an 8-year or 160,000-km warranty.
Various exclusive systems secure the batteries and make any necessary interventions easier. “Fireman Access” helps the emergency services put out a battery fire in just a few minutes. The SD Switch disconnects the battery from the high voltage network to ensure electrical safety for the fire service.
At the end of the vehicle’s life, depending on its condition, the battery may be reused to store energy for other purposes or recycled. They benefit from Renault’s electrical expertise and are guaranteed for 8 years or 160,000 km*.
*Closed-loop recycling of more than 90% of the cobalt, nickel and lithium is being put in place by The Future Is NEUTRAL (a Renault Group subsidiary dedicated to the circular economy) and its partners, and should be operational from 2027
