Renault Rafale
advanced driver-assistance systems
As part of the Human First programme, Renault has developed 32 advanced driver-assistance systems to make driving safer and give you greater peace of mind.
driver-assistance systems
speed limiter
Set your vehicle’s maximum speed to keep to the posted speed limits.
cruise control
Set your desired driving speed to maintain a consistent speed.
adaptive cruise control
Maintain your speed and the appropriate safe distance from the vehicle in front of you. The system brakes if you get too close to the vehicle ahead and accelerates when the road is clear again.
intelligent adaptive cruise control
Maintain a consistent speed and the appropriate safe distance from the vehicle in front of you. The vehicle uses its built-in and connected systems to anticipate road conditions, such as traffic jams or roundabouts, to adjust the speed in advance.*
*included for 5 years
active driver assist
Active driver assist combines intelligent adaptive cruise control with the Stop & Go system and lane centering. It regulates the speed according to the road conditions, maintains a safe driving distance, and keeps you centered in your lane. In slow traffic, Renault Rafale stops and restarts automatically and temporarily creates a safe passage for emergency vehicles.
*included for 5 years
distance warning
Using its front camera and sensors, Renault Rafale calculates safe driving distances and triggers an audible and visual warning if it detects a potential collision with another vehicle.
predictive hybrid driving
Predictive hybrid driving* helps optimise battery use. Renault Rafale predicts the type of road ahead and uses internal combustion engine, hybrid or 100% electric driving depending on the topography. This improves your fuel consumption and driving range, as well as your vehicle’s performance.
*included for 5 years
hill start assist
When stopped on a gradient of more than 3%, the system activates and maintains brake pressure for 2 seconds.
9.3” head-up display
Renault Rafale has a large head-up display that provides critical driving information, alerts and important indicators so you can keep your eyes on the road.
trailer stability assist
This system helps you stay in control of the vehicle and reduce weaving when towing a trailer. It detects and corrects any imbalances caused by the trailer.
park assist
rear park assist
Your manoeuvres are made easier with Renault Rafale’s rear sensors, which signal obstacles are near with audible alerts and visual warnings.
front park assist
Your manoeuvres are made easier with Renault Rafale’s front sensors, which signal obstacles are near with audible alerts and visual warnings.
side park assist
Your manoeuvres are made easier with Renault Rafale’s side sensors, which signal when obstacles are near with audible alerts and visual warnings.
rear view camera
For added safety and ease during your manoeuvres, the openR screen offers a rear view with guiding markers when you shift into reverse. Functions like autozoom or rotation view let you tailor the display to your needs.
360° around view 3D camera
Four cameras create 360° visibility around the vehicle and display the images on Renault Rafale’s openR screen so you can complete your manoeuvres effortlessly.
hands-free parking
Whether parking at an angle, perpendicularly, or in parallel, hands-free parking is a major advantage. After detecting that there is a big enough parking space for Renault Rafale, it sets the vehicle’s trajectory and then takes control of the steering. You retain control of the accelerator and braking.
safety systems
blind spot warning
At speeds over 15 km/h, it uses indicator lights to warn you of vehicles that are outside of your field of vision.
traffic sign recognition with speed alert
Using the maps and a camera positioned at the top of the windscreen, the system informs you of speed limits via the openR screen and head-up display. It also alerts you if you exceed the speed limit. With active driver assist*, your vehicle will automatically adapt its speed at your request.
*included for 5 years
traffic-sign recognition
The openR screen and head-up display inform you when speed limits change as your drive, using a camera positioned at the top of the windscreen.
active emergency braking
With the help of the sensor, the system warns the driver any potential collisions, whether with pedestrians, cyclists, or motorcyclists. It does this by calculating the distance between Renault Rafale and the vehicle in front. The driver can then apply the brakes, but if the system still detects a risk of collision, the brake force is increased. If the driver fails to react, the system applies the brakes automatically.
intersection automatic emergency braking
At intersections, the system calculates the distance between Renault Rafale and oncoming or intersecting vehicles, alerting the driver in the event of a potential collision. The driver can then apply the brakes, but if the system still detects a risk of collision, the brake force is increased. If the driver fails to react, the system applies the brakes automatically.
rear cross traffic alert
Receive alerts through the dashboard and the head-up display if an obstacle is detected during your reverse parking maneuvers.
rear automatic emergency braking
Your vehicle will automatically brake if there is an obstacle behind you when reversing and manoeuvring.
lane departure warning
Using a windscreen-mounted camera behind the rearview mirror, Renault Rafale’s system detects and warns you if you accidentally cross a continuous or broken line.
lane keeping assist
Above 70 km/h, the system counter-steers to bring your vehicle back into its lane if you cross a continuous or broken line without using the indicators.
front detection with emergency trajectory correction
When changing lanes, Renault Rafale automatically corrects its trajectory if a head-on collision is deemed likely.
rear detection with emergency trajectory correction
When changing lanes, Renault Rafale warns you of a potential collision with an overtaking vehicle, and automatically corrects its trajectory if a collision is likely.
occupant safe exit alert
When stationary, Renault Rafale warns you if another vehicle is approaching when the driver or a passenger opens one of the doors. A visual warning (in the rearview mirror) and an audible warning (from the dashboard) alert you to the danger.
driver attention alert
Renault Rafale warns the driver if it detects a lapse of attention or signs of sleepiness.
automatic high low beam
A camera positioned at the top of the windscreen senses light changes according to traffic conditions and outside illumination, and adjusts Renault Rafale’s lights automatically.
LED adaptive vision (including fog mode)
For better safety and driving comfort, the system automatically adjusts the range and width of the beam in front to suit the driving conditions (speed, bend) and the weather.
LED matrix vision
The system automatically adjusts the shape of the light beam to the traffic and weather conditions to avoid glare and optimise night vision.
vehicle occupant safety
Renault Rafale is equipped with cutting-edge innovations from the Human First programme, ensuring your safety at every moment, providing solutions that support, guide and protect you.
safety score and safety coach
Promoting safer driving:
- The safety score analyses the speed, trajectory and safe distance data transmitted during trips. After each trip, it displays the driver’s score, from 0 to 100, along with personalised tips to improve one’s driving skills.
- using the safety score data, the safety coach offers tips to help you develop better driving habits.
post-accident active emergency braking system
Designed to prevent or minimize secondary impacts in a collision, the system automatically applies the brakes to bring the vehicle to a stop unless the driver regains control*.
*by braking or accelerating
Renault QRescue: saving time for the emergency services
With a QR code on the windscreen and rear window, Renault QRescue gives firefighters immediate access to the vehicle’s technical data sheet, helping them intervene promptly and safely. This can save up to 15 minutes when it comes to taking care of victims within the golden hour*.
*the critical time window following an accident in which first responders have to transport the injured to the hospital.
