The driver can then apply the brakes, but if the system still detects a risk of collision, the brake force is increased. If the driver fails to react, the system applies the brakes automatically.

At intersections, the system calculates the distance between Renault Rafale and oncoming or intersecting vehicles, alerting the driver in the event of a potential collision. The full hybrid E-Tech 200 hp powertrain provides a smooth, responsive driving experience. You have the option to go fully electric, in hybrid mode (electric + combustion), or with the combustion engine alone. And with the smart gearbox, switching is fully automated. The powertrain is comprised of:

The solarbay® darkening panoramic glass roof in Renault Rafale measures 1 m² and darkens and lightens on demand. Vary the light levels and adjust for thermal comfort using a button on the overhead console or voice command through Google Assistant¹. It darkens fully when the vehicle is locked to keep your interior at the optimal temperature. When you return it automatically reverts to its previous setting.

The driver recognition system provides automatic access to the driver’s customised profile and driving environment, including driver’s seat position, exterior mirror settings, preselected radios, navigation history with their Google account and openR link apps. The «take a break!» app, a Renault exclusive to be downloaded from Google Play, monitors the driver’s fatigue and suggests stopping points on the central screen that he can easily reach thanks to the on-board navigation.*

The My Renault app lets you start charging the battery using your smartphone. You can also remotely programme and manage the air conditioning, the heating and charge the battery.
