Make sure you have downloaded the My Renault app onto your smartphone and created your account.
1. Sit in your car after closing the My Renault app on your smartphone.
2. Switch on your vehicle’s central display and accept data sharing with Renault.
3. Bring up notifications by sliding your finger from the top to the bottom of the screen.
4. Click on your user profile, then on My Renault account. Enter your My Renault username and password then click on “Connection”.
5. Open the My Renault app on your smartphone. Your car appears on your app’s home page, and your vehicle data is now visible.

To synchronise your car equipped with the easy link multimedia system with the My Renault app, follow the steps below and watch the tutorial video.
First of all, make sure you’ve downloaded the My Renault app onto your smartphone, created your account and have your login details to hand.
Add your vehicle using the “car” icon at the bottom left of the screen and enter the vehicle identification number (VIN). This number appears on your vehicle registration document.
1. Get into your car. Make sure the motor is switched on and that you have network coverage.
2. In your My Renault app, press “sync My Renault”. Make sure that data sharing has been accepted on your vehicle’s multimedia screen. If not, follow the app steps.
3. In your app, press “start” and “continue”.
4. A 6-digit code appears on your car’s display.
5. Enter this code in your My Renault app.

shutdown of the 2G/3G mobile networks

Telecoms operators are gradually phasing out 2G and 3G networks in Europe. This deactivation, initiated in 2024, will continue until 2029, according to a timetable specific to each operator, country by country.
This situation will have an impact on the operation of widespread equipment and products (e.g. remote monitoring systems, elevators, home medical devices, etc.).
In Cyprus, the shutdown of the 2G and 3G networks, in waves and by region. For more information, please contact your mobile network operator.
From this date onwards, the loss of the 3G network will render the eCall feature inoperable in geographical areas where neither 2G nor 3G is available. It will remain operational in countries and geographical areas where a 2G or 3G network is still active.
The SOS button on the vehicle’s overhead console can be used to check the status of the eCall system. For further information, please refer to your vehicle owner’s manual.
Please note: driving the vehicle itself is not affected by the shutdown of 2G or 3G networks. The vehicle remains fully compliant with its certification.
Renault Group continues to assess the impact of the 2G and 3G shutdown on a model-by-model and country-by-country basis, with a view to identifying whether alternatives are possible.

Yes. Manufactured and approved in accordance with the regulations in force at the time of their sale, the vehicles can stay on the road after the 2G and 3G networks are switched off.
The emergency call service (or “eCall”) is an onboard service present in all M1 (Passenger Cars) and N1 (Light Commercial Vehicles) vehicles that have received “New Type” approval in Europe since March 31, 2018.
In the event of an accident in which an airbag is deployed, the vehicle automatically transmits a call to the emergency services (European emergency number 112). It can also be activated manually.
All Renault vehicles that have received new type approval since 31 March 2018 are equipped with an eCall system. To find out whether a vehicle is equipped with one, simply check the overhead console between the driver’s seat and the front passenger seat: if there is an “SOS” button, the vehicle has emergency call (or “eCall”) functionality.

Renault and firefighters, a unique partnership
Within the framework of the Human First Program, Renault has joined forces with the Naudet brothers, producers of award-winning documentaries about 9/11 and the Notre Dame fire, to highlight and visually express the extremely close collaboration between the Group and the road safety teams. This alliance between engineering and R&D constitutes an amazing adventure dedicated to “the golden hour”, the precious minutes when rescue workers have a greater chance of saving lives.

The only manufacturer in the world to have appointed a full-time firefighter in engineering and the only one to collaborate regularly with road safety teams, Renault has trained 5,000 firefighters from 21 countries worldwide in just a few years! New courses are already planned in Europe and Latin America.

With a QR code on the windscreen and rear window, QRescue Renault gives firefighters immediate access to the vehicle’s ‘rescue sheet’. It provides firefighters with all the information they need to allow them to work efficiently and safely.
Fireman Access
Even though our high voltage batteries are designed to ensure that they are not deteriorated by any intrinsic cause, a fire caused by external reasons is always possible. If a fire spreads to the battery, points to the heart of the battery where firefighters can direct the fire hoses, allowing battery fires to be extinguished in less than 10 minutes, compared to an average of 4 hours for other manufacturers. This saves approximately 42,000 liters of water per intervention and, most importantly, crucial time for emergency responders. In 2025, Renault takes safety a step further with the universal patent initiative by opening its safety patents to competitors.
SD Switch*
To prevent the risk of firefighters being electrocuted, the “sd switch” instantly disconnects the battery from the high voltage network.

In 50 years, Renault has helped divide by 5 the number of victims on the roads. To continuously improve everybody’s safety, the experts from the LAB (Accidents and Biomechanics Laboratory) and the 600 engineers and technicians innovate relentlessly. The goal is to make their work in the field easier in the event of
an accident and to make it as safe as possible.

Developed between Renault and the emergency services, the aim of the initiative is to help firefighters save time and stay safe on call-outs and therefore save more lives.
The only car manufacturer in the world to have appointed a full-time Lieutenant-Colonel firefighter, Renault has been regularly training first responders for a number of years, in several countries, to deal with the latest generation of vehicles in its range.

What type pf training is given?
The training courses use real vehicles, in real-life conditions such as fires, extrication, underwater rescues, and more.
Theoretical and practical training is given and courses can last several days. Regular communication also keeps the emergency services abreast of any innovations that may affect them.

Renault has given 4,000 new vehicles to the fire service. These include latest-generation electric and hybrid models so that firefighters can become acquainted with the latest technology.
passenger extrication
Vital training on how to cut passengers free helps firefighters save time and work more efficiently. It also teaches them how to use QRescue, which gives them instant access to technical information about the vehicle involved in the accident. The car manufacturer and the fire service take part in annual extrication challenges in France, as well as in the World Rescue Challenge, once again using the latest vehicles provided.

Did you know that Renault has invented the only protocol to extinguish electric battery fires caused by external sources? Despite what many people think, high-voltage batteries in our electric vehicles are very safe. However, acts of vandalism or a fire outbreak from the outside can lead to a fire on the inside. For this reason, real-life fire extinguishing training courses help drill First Responders to develop adapted actions and work quickly with Renault innovation, the Fireman Access.

Advanced driver-assistance systems (adas) are intelligent systems that rely on advanced technologies (radars, software, cameras, etc.) to assist the driver on journeys.
Most adas work without human intervention, like the automatic emergency braking system (Pedestrian AEBS). New systems will soon herald the arrival of automated driving. Renault Group has been fitting its vehicles with driver-assistance systems for several years.

Your vehicle warns the driver when one of the passengers opens a door. A light in the rearview mirror and a visual and audible warning on the dashboard are triggered if there is a proven risk.
blind spot warning
Active above 15 km/h*, it warns the driver, via a signal in the rearview mirror, of the presence of vehicles that are not visible in his field of vision.

emergency brake assist
In the event of a head-on collision risk, the system warns drivers so that they can take appropriate emergency action. The system brakes automatically if drivers do not react despite the various alerts emitted.

QRESCUE RENAULT: THE QR CODE THAT SAVES THE EMERGENCY SERVICES TIME
A Renault innovation developed in close collaboration with firefighters, it guarantees improved safety during extrication.

QRescue Renault is a QR code that gives emergency services access to all of the vehicle’s technical information in one scan, even in dead zones.
Affixed as standard* on the front and rear windscreens of Renault vehicles, its location was chosen with firefighters to facilitate their work.

QRescue Renault can save the emergency services up to 15 precious minutes during the “golden hour”, the urgent time window when patients must receive definitive trauma care before being taken to hospital.

In an emergency, every second counts. By scanning the QR code, firefighters have immediate access to the vehicle’s key technical information in the form of the Rescue Sheet.

Renault innovations to facilitate first responder intervention.
An electric vehicle is potentially less likely to catch fire than an internal combustion engine (fewer fluids, fewer highly flammable components, etc.). Renault electric vehicle batteries are extremely safe, which drastically reduces the risk of fire.
Launched in 2010, the collaboration between Renault and firefighters has developed over time. In particular, new technologies designed to make the work of first responders easier and shorten intervention times have emerged.
In 2025, Renault launches the universal patent initiative, believing that safety should not be a matter of patents, and opens the Fireman Access patent to all competitors.
Fireman Access
Fireman Access in a nutshell
Even though the high-voltage batteries of Renault vehicles are designed to prevent fire outbreaks – during normal use and in the event of an accident – a fire started by external causes can spread to the battery. The Fireman Access can be used to extinguish it in a few minutes allowing firefighters to head straight to another call-out.
how does the Fireman Access work?
It is a safety system for flooding the battery of an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle in the event of a fire. A metal rupture disk seals the battery throughout its life and ensures the watertightness required for everyday use. If a fire is started deliberately, it breaks under the pressure of a high-pressure jet of water directed by firefighters and allows water to reach the battery.
what are the benefits for firefighters?
Intervention times are reduced from several hours to ten minutes maximum. Saving water and time!

SD Switch
the SD Switch in a nutshell
The SD Switch is a mechanical switch that disconnects the battery from the electrical circuitry. Although our high-voltage batteries are designed to switch to electrical safety mode in the event of an accident, we recommend that firefighters use the SD Switch in the event of a violent impact to guarantee absolute electrical safety.
how does it work?
The SD Switch works like a fuse, applied to a voltage of 400 to 600 volts (compared to 230 volts in a domestic network). It disconnects the battery from the high-voltage electrical circuitry immediately.
what are the benefits for firefighters?
The SD Switch allows firefighters dealing with an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle to work in complete safety. Renault organises training courses for the emergency services on how to use it correctly.
