easy driving

electric platform

The 110 kW electric motor (150 hp) → The 150 hp electric motor (110 kW) and precision steering enhance the dynamic performance. Renault 5 is also available 90 kW motors (120 hp).

driving pleasure

Wheels pushed back to the four corners of the body deliver new levels of performance and driving pleasure. The optimised front axle and reduced turning circle ensure maximum agility. The multi-link rear axle, borrowed from high-end segments, provides handling and dynamics unprecedented in this class.

driving comfort

A longer wheelbase and wider track guarantee optimum driving comfort. Inside Renault 5, passengers enjoy the “cocoon effect” (patented Renault insulation), which dampens vibrations and road noise, and provides excellent soundproofing. All this, snugly nestled in the H-shaped contoured seats inspired by Renault 5 Turbo 2, for excellent lateral support.

increased driving range

performance

On the road, with a fully charged battery, Renault 5 allows you to travel up to 410 km*. This impressive range is made possible by the high efficiency of Renault 5’s motor and smart fuel consumption management.
*according to WLTP standards for 52 kWh comfort-range battery

regenerative braking

The energy recovery system allows the battery to recharge during deceleration or when you press the brake pedal. The B mode, which enhances regenerative braking, adjusts to your driving style and extends Renault 5’s range. The one -pedal function complements the first three regenerative braking modes and is activated using the steering wheel paddles*. *depending on version

thermal management

The heat pump*, coupled with the motor’s and the battery’s energy recovery system, boosts Renault 5’s driving range. It also helps regulate cabin temperature, keeping passengers comfortable no matter the season.

*available on evolution, techno, iconic, and Roland Garros versions.

flexible charging

AC (Alternating Current) charging

Its 11 kW AC charger is compatible with public charging stations, so you can easily charge your Renault 5 anywhere. You can gain approximately 75 km in 1 hour* at a standard public charging point, Getting around is always easy.

*maximum charging power will be limited to 11 kW at a standard 22 kW public charging point

DC (Direct Current) charging

The fast DC charging system, compatible with all European networks, allows you to gain up to 175 km of WLTP range in just 15 minutes*. With fast charging, it takes only 30 minutes to go from 15 to 80% driving range. Renault 5 is perfectly suited for all your journeys.

optimised charging on the road

Depending on the version and equipment, Renault 5 offers battery temperature preconditioning to help you charge more quickly. When a route is programmed on Google Maps, the vehicle automatically adapts the battery temperature to maximise charging power and advises you on the ideal percentage to recover. Perfect for optimising your journeys.

Various exclusive systems secure the batteries and make any necessary interventions easier. “Firefighter Access” helps the emergency services put out a battery fire in just a few minutes. The SD Switch disconnects the battery from the high voltage network to ensure electrical safety for the fire service.

At the end of the vehicle’s life, the batteries, depending on their condition, may be refurbished, reused to store energy in other uses, or recycled. More than 90% of the cobalt, nickel and lithium will then be recycled in a closed loop* to produce new batteries.

*Closed-loop recycling of more than 90% of the cobalt, nickel and lithium is being put in place by The Future Is NEUTRAL (a Renault Group subsidiary dedicated to the circular economy) and its partners, and should be operational from 2027.
