solarbay is the result of joint development byRenault and Saint-Gobain. It is based on Saint-Gobain Sekurit’s AmpliSky® full electronic system.This technology uses a PDLC* film between two glass plates charged with an electric current that changes the alignment of the liquid crystals. This design therefore shaves 30 millimetres off vehicle height, which helps to improve Scenic E-Tech electric’s aerodynamics and driving range.
Only Renault currently offers such a “smart” roof, lightening and darkening from multiple directions, in a gradual wave.

recyclable and reparable glass roof
The glass in your Scenic E-Tech electric’s solarbay contains around 50% cullet, which is automotive glass recovered from the different stages of production at Saint-Gobain Sekurit’s plants.
On the road, solarbay glass has two micro-thin layers, providing excellent thermal protection. In this way, its CO₂ footprint is lower compared to conventional roofs.
At end of life, the glass is ground, filtered and recycled into new automotive glass. Both the PDLC and PVB* films can be reused for other purposes. This means that solarbay has a recyclability rate of more than 90%.
In the event of an accident, the glass can be replaced just as easily as a conventional glazed roof, since all of its component parts can be replaced individually.

The entirely flat floor, with the electric CMF-EV platform allows for a wheelbase of 2.78 m and optimal comfort, particularly in the back; with generous leg room of 27.8 cm and a large internal height of 88 cm. ingenius® rear armrest, a new approach to comfort
The particularly innovative folding ingenius® rear armrest has 2 USB-C ports and storage spaces designed for mobile phones, tablet computers and your other digital devices. Its two removable and adjustable arms allow passengers to comfortably watch their favourite content and holds cups or water bottles. Lastly, the armrest is fitted with a flap to let long objects such as skis pass through from the boot to the rear passenger compartment.

38 litres of storage space is split between the front and rear of the Scenic E-Tech 100% electric. In addition to the glove box and door bins, the central armrest hosts a big open space with two cup holders, one of which is adjustable. Under the armrest, other spaces are provided for your belongings and a large space under the central screen lets you charge your smartphone by induction. There are pockets on the back of the seats where you can stash magazines or tablet computers.

Renault Scenic offers flexible charging whether you are at home, in your company or on the road.
Scenic lets you travel freely. With a fully charged battery and a 30-minute recharge during the journey, you can travel up to 600 km¹ on the motorway using a DC fast charger (150 kW minimum).
As nearly as 90% of the charging points in Europe are 22 kW or less, you will always have an opportunity to charge your car. Scenic’s 22 kW charger allows you to quickly recover 50% of your driving range : ~ 2 hours on the long range battery ~1h30 on the standard range battery.
Scenic is easy to charge at home on the domestic network using a wall box charging terminal, a reinforced home socket or occasionally on a standard domestic socket. Every day with a special 7.4 kW charging point, recharge from 15 to 80% in around 8 hrs 30.

With AC alternating or DC direct current. Conventional home and public charging points offer alternating current. Fast charging points that can be found on motorways offer direct current.The battery works with DC current, so the vehicle’s charger converts AC to DC when your car is plugged into a conventional charging point.
At home, you just need to install a reinforced socket or a charging point to charge your vehicle with the type 2 cable supplied. Occasionally, you can also charge your car from a domestic socket with the Flexicharger cable available as an option.
The home charging point must be 7.4 kW AC single-phase or 11 kW AC three-phase. The suitable cables are called type 2 cables or Flexicharger cables (in the case of a reinforced domestic socket).

The “long driving range” battery offers an improved power curve, that is more stable over time. Fast charging from 15 to 80%, to recover 57 kWh, takes just 37 minutes.

The battery, which is specifically adapted to the AMPR MEDIUM platform, is eco-designed to facilitate repairs and recycling.The electric expertise that Renault has acquired over more than 10 years helps to maximise the battery’s lifetime, which is guaranteed for 8 years or 160,000 km.

QRescue: a time-saving QR code
Affixed as standard* on the front and rear windscreens of Renault Scenic E-Tech electric, the location was decided on in conjunction with firefighters, with the aim of making their interventions easier. This QR code can be simply scanned to allow the emergency services to access the vehicle’s technical data rapidly. This can save them up to 15 minutes of intervention time.

Safety score
The safety score assists the driver by analysing the speed, trajectory and safe distance data transmitted during trips. It displays the driver’s score, between 0 and 100, after each journey. It can then give personalized tips on how to improve their driving.

In order to provide optimum passenger protection in the event of collisions, Scenic is equipped with specific systems and multiple airbags in the cabin:
