Where can I charge Megane E-Tech electric?

Charge Megane E-Tech electric:

  • At home, plug it into your charging unit installed by Renault or into a reinforced home socket.
  • In the city, stop at one of the many public charging stations available.

Can I charge my battery even if it's not empty?

The battery in Megane E-Tech electric has no “memory effect”. It features cutting-edge lithium-ion technology, the most advanced on the market, delivering  optimised driving range.
This means you can  charge as needed, even partially, without risk of diminishing performance.  To optimise your charging time, particularly at a quick charge station, we recommend charging your vehicle only when the battery  has less than 20% driving range remaining.

How can I schedule charging for Megane E-Tech electric?

Using your My Renault mobile app, remotely control charge levels for your Megane E-Tech electric. Need to charge? At home, remotely activate charging on your vehicle using your smartphone.

How can I optimise charging during business trips?

Depending on your version of Megane E-Tech electric, quick charging is an option on the road and lets you charge up to 300 km WLTP in 30 minutes.
To take full advantage of quick charging, we recommend charging the battery only when your remaining driving range is less than 20%.
Charging costs vary depending on the operator.Billing methods also vary, either charging by kW, charging time or by charging speed (on quick charge stations).

For optimal charging during a business trip, the Google Maps route planner built into your openR link proposes the best possible journey, taking into consideration the battery, the vehicle’s remaining driving range, road conditions, and the availability of charging stations (types of stations and their rates).
Megane E-Tech electric’s planner lets you condition the battery to make fast charging as efficient as possible. Available as standard on Evolution, Techno and Iconic.

CABLES AND CHARGING POINTS

What cable can I use to charge Megane E-Tech electric?

Your Megane E-Tech 3% electric is equipped with a mode 3 type 2 cable as standard. You can connect this cable to your home charging unit or to any public charging station.
If a charging point is unavailable or for occasional charging, get an optional mode 2 domestic cable to charge your Megane E-Tech electric on a 3.7 kW Green’up reinforced socket. With this cable, charging from 15% to 80% will take up to 13 hours.
All versions are equipped as standard with a DC fast charger (peak power of 165 kW in DC), which is compatible with the high-power charging stations located on motorways. No need for an additional cable for this charging mode. The cables are directly attached to the charging station. Just like filling up at the pump.

How long is the charging cable provided with Megane E-Tech electric?

The charging cable provided with Megane E-Tech electric is 5 metres long.

6.5-metre cables are also available and can be ordered from your dealership.

Where is the charging socket located on Megane E-Tech electric?

On Megane E-Tech electric, the charging flap is located at the front right of the vehicle.

Can I plug Megane E-Tech electric into a domestic socket?

Use a Mode 2 “Flexicharger”* cable to plug Megane E-Tech electric into a standard 2.3 kW domestic socket. This charging mode is suitable for occasional use or when a specific charging point is unavailable. It takes between 20 and 30 hours to fully charge your vehicle.
For a faster, safer solution, have a 7,4 or 22 kW home charging unit installed! Renault offers you the home charging solution you need, without having to worry about installation.

I own another electric vehicle; how can I manage charging for my two vehicles?

To charge two electric vehicles with ease at home, we recommend the following:

  • Ensure the charging  cables are compatible  with both of your vehicles.

To purchase additional cables, contact your dealership directly when ordering your Megane E-Tech electric.

  • Verify  that  your electrical set-up  is equipped to handle charging of both of your vehicles.

Is quick charging an option?

Quick charging is available on all Megane E-Tech electric versions.
New Megane is equipped with a quick charge (maximum power peak DC 165 kW) as standard. It is compatible with high-power charging stations located in motorway networks. No need for an additional cable for this charging mode: cables are directly attached to the charging station, just like the hose at the petrol station.

How do I find public charging stations?

Connect to Google Maps on your Megane E-Tech electric and let it guide you to the nearest charging station.With the  route planner for electric vehicles, organise your pit stops and charging, so you can arrive at your destination with peace of mind. It will even show you the charging power and price.
From your My Renault account, locate charging stations on your route and pay simply with your charging card, charge pass, offered with the purchase of your Megane E-Tech electric. How do I pay? You can connect a bank card to your pass.

1. CHOOSE TO SHARE YOUR DATA WITH RENAULT AND GOOGLE
During initial configuration, you will be asked to share your data with both Renault and Google. By accepting, you authorise, for example, the sharing of geolocation data necessary to use Google Maps or to find your vehicle from your smartphone.

2. CONNECT YOUR MY RENAULT AND GOOGLE ACCOUNTS WITH YOUR RENAULT
With your dealer’s help, link your My Renault and Google accounts to the openR link system and get a unique driving experience that is designed for you. Simply follow the steps indicated by the multimedia system.

To use apps downloaded from Google Play on the openR link system, dedicated connectivity is required. Activate the internet connection applicable to your Renault according to your model and date of manufacture.

Depending on your model and its date of manufacture, and if your vehicle is equipped with the ” advanced connectivity pack “, you can activate the included internet package as follows: click on the ” onboard internet ” button on the home page of your My Renault app.

For all vehicles with the openR link multimedia system with Google built-in, you can share your phone’s connection with your Renault.

For this, go to your phone’s Settings menu. Then, select Personal Hotspot and accept the conditions. Switch on your openR link system in your vehicle and activate the Wi-Fi.

What happens if I don’t create a My Renault account?

My Renault is designed to make your life easy. Without a personal profile, you cannot view your vehicle’s data in real time.

Creating a My Renault account is also a prerequisite for using your remote services.

What happens if I don’t create a Google account?

Without a Google account associated with your openR link system, you won’t have access to Google Play apps.

Do all car users have to enter their own Google account in their profile?

We recommend that you set up a Google account in each user profile to personalise your experience.

Can I use an address other than Gmail to create my Google account?

When you create a Google account, a Gmail address is created automatically. However, if you prefer to use an email address other than Gmail to log in, you can associate it with your account and also use it to retrieve your password, receive notifications, etc.

What should I do if I cannot enter my accounts in my openR link system?

If you are unable to link your accounts to your openR linksystem, please contact your professional at Renault at XXX.

Can I update my accounts after configuring my profile?

You can modify your accounts at any time. To do this, go to your profile and delete your existing accounts, then replace them with the new ones by following the steps in the configuration wizard.

Does every user have to activate the internet in the car?

No, as soon as the internet is activated in your vehicle, all user profiles can benefit from it.
