WHAT IS THE CONSUMPTION OF A HYBRID CAR?
simply recharge
Charging a plug-in hybrid car is very simple: just connect it to an electrical network.
Our vehicles are compatible with AC sockets or charging stations. The charging power will be limited depending on the characteristics of your car.
In addition, thanks to regenerative braking, the battery automatically recharges up to 10% while driving.
what are the charging options for a plug-in hybrid vehicle?
on the road
Public charging is possible in all places equipped with charging stations: shopping centers, car dealerships, car-sharing networks, public parking, etc.
domestic socket charging cable
This cable is for occasional use to charge your plug-in hybrid car on conventional domestic or reinforced sockets at home.
charging on an AC terminal (alternating current) between 3.7 kW and 22 kW
Ideal for daily use for complete peace of mind.
Your vehicle is compatible with AC points up to 22 kW (not compatible with DC – direct current – fast charge), but charging will be limited to the maximum power accepted by your model, i.e. 7.4 kW.
recharge with a reinforced or standard socket
IIf you do not have dedicated equipment available (e.g. a charging point), the reinforced socket is designed to deliver power up to 3.7 kW (16 A). Charging will also take between 5 and 6 hours.
A standard socket is another option that will provide 2.3 kW (10 A) of power.
enjoy 100% electric driving time with your E-Tech plug-in hybrid vehicle
charging that changes everything
Your fuel consumption is significantly reduced if you fully charge your battery every day.
battery life
The battery of plug-in hybrid vehicles is developed to be recharged 100%, every day, in order to fully play its role in daily electric journeys.
Recharging is called “slow” which prevents the batteries from being damaged.
Our batteries are guaranteed for 8 years or 160,000 km.
less fuel
It is estimated that up to 75% of fuel can be saved on a plug-in hybrid vehicle, by favoring the use of electric motors and therefore electric charging. Benefit from a significant reduction in consumption during longer journeys such as vacations with the hybrid mode which alternates thermal driving and electric driving as soon as the battery is sufficiently charged.
low CO₂ emissions
Recharging the battery of an E-Tech plug-in hybrid vehicle daily allows prolonged use of the electric motors. Drive 100% electric for up to 50 km (WLTP cycle) without CO 2 emissions or particles harmful to health.
optimize your daily recharge
At home, optimize your charging times by using a reinforced charging socket or a charging station.
To preserve your autonomy, consider pre-conditioning, remotely, the temperature of your cabin while you are still charging.
Charge when it’s cheapest by scheduling your recharge using our Mobilize Smart Charge service or via My Renault.

your questions about charging plug-in hybrid vehicles
Yes quite ! A hybrid vehicle continues to drive even when its traction battery is exhausted (it then uses gasoline traction only). And above all, it recharges while driving, thanks to the kinetic energy and the thermal energy generated by the gasoline engine.
The autonomy of the hybrid vehicle is therefore greater than that of a gasoline car, since it can alternate between several energy sources. In town, when the electric motor(s) take over, there is little or no use on the combustion engine, which logically results in fuel savings.
And it goes even further! In the case of the rechargeable hybrid, whose battery is recharged while driving but also thanks to connection to a terminal, the 100% electric autonomy is even greater: it is guaranteed for up to 50 km on the WLTP cycle in use mixed (thermal + electric) and in real use between 25 and 65 km depending on the recharge and the type of road.
A non-rechargeable hybrid car recharges while driving: the driver has nothing to do!
On the other hand, if you purchase a plug-in hybrid, it is highly recommended to recharge the battery every day by connecting it to the electricity network (public terminals; domestic terminal; fast charging stations, etc.). You will thus better benefit from the advantages of the plug-in hybrid (greater autonomy; higher speed with electric traction; savings linked to consumption, etc.).
If you don’t want to manually recharge the vehicle, opt for a non-plug-in hybrid instead.
If you have a problem accessing a charging socket, the Mobilize power solutions service can assist you in your efforts.
Note that in either case, the vehicle operates perfectly using only the fuel tank . If the battery is empty but there is still gasoline, there is no risk of breaking down.
