Renault Emblème

An eco-designed family demo car, Renault Emblème takes up the challenge of reducing carbon emissions.

With a more sustainable dual-energy electric and hydrogen technology, Renault Emblème aims to reduce CO2e emissions by 90% compared to today’s equivalent models over its lifecycle.

Renault Group objective: net zero carbon by 2040¹ in Europe

optimised design and aerodynamics

Renault Emblème’s design, the embodiment of Renault’s future styling language, is enhanced by a dichroic green body colour². This avant-garde demo car has been carefully engineered with energy efficiency in mind. Every element is designed to improve aerodynamics and contribute to maximum air penetration.

AERODYNAMICS

a long, sloping bonnet

In the centre of the long, sloping bonnet, two fins channel the airflow and minimise the frontal surface area, optimising efficiency and aesthetics.

cameras as rearview mirrors

To maximise aerodynamic efficiency, two side cameras replace the rearview mirrors. They are integrated into the wheel arches, the area that generates the least airflow disturbance.

two vents for optimised air flow

The bumper is adorned with two vents that extend behind the wheels, guiding air along the front doors. No more air turbulence behind the front wheels: aerodynamic penetration is improved. At the base of the bumper, active grills open and close to supply the intercoolers with optimal airflow.

spoiler and dynamic rear diffuser

The roofline naturally draws air towards the large rear spoiler. The floor pan is completely flat. Under the rear bumper, a dynamic diffuser balances the upper and lower air flows to minimise aerodynamic drag.

designed for efficiency

To optimise aerodynamics, nothing has been left to chance: windshield wipers concealed under the bonnet, touch-sensitive door handles, curved roof pillars, seamless flush glass, and tall, narrow, low-rolling-resistance tyres.

looking ahead to a low-carbon vehicle in Europe by 2040¹

a carbon-free goal

Committed to more sustainable mobility, Renault Group aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 90% over the life cycle of its vehicles, to achieve carbon neutrality in Europe¹ by 2040. This ambition to cut carbon emissions is embodied by Renault Emblème . Find out more on this page on October 30th.

a more sustainable life cycle

The challenge for Renault Emblème lies in achieving an unprecedented level of decarbonization throughout its entire lifecycle: using recycled, low-carbon, or natural materials, manufacturing with 100% renewable energy, and promoting the widespread adoption of second-life and circular economy practices.

dual-energy powertrain

Renault Emblème features a dual-energy electric powertrain, combining a rechargeable battery for everyday use with a hydrogen fuel cell for longer journeys. This configuration enhances its versatility, allowing trips of up to 1,000 km without the need for electric recharging³.

more sustainable, safe and accessible mobility

With the collaboration of our engineers, designers and partners, Renault Emblème is exploring new solutions for reducing carbon emissions. Heir to the Eolab (2014) and Scenic Vision H2-Tech (2022) prototypes, this demo car is a rolling laboratory demonstrating the technical innovations that allow such a high level of carbon reduction.
